Between 2023 and 2025, A-List supported the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority (OSA) by providing comprehensive multilingual translation and interpretation services for a multi-year planning and deployment effort focused on the future of Coyote Valley. Encompassing approximately 1,500 acres, Coyote Valley is a landscape of regional significance, playing a vital role in wildlife connectivity, sustainable agriculture, flood protection, climate resilience, and public access to nature.
A-List’s language access services helped ensure that community members who speak Spanish and Vietnamese were able to fully participate in OSA’s science-based planning process. By removing language barriers, A-List supported equitable and inclusive engagement, allowing diverse community perspectives to inform long-term conservation and land-use decisions.
In addition to written translation, A-List developed a Coyote Valley–specific translation guide to ensure consistency, clarity, and accessibility in public-facing materials. A-List also conducted multilingual focus groups to gather community input and provided interpretation for site tours and public engagement activities, enabling participants to engage directly with planners, scientists, and decision-makers in their preferred language.
Through this work, A-List helped amplify community voices and strengthen trust between OSA and the public, contributing to a more inclusive, transparent, and science-based conservation process that reflects the needs and values of the broader Santa Clara Valley community.
